Healtchare Patient documentation
Patient information
all in one place
For this project I wanted to create something meaningful to me that reflected upon my time in healthcare.
Problem
Clinical staff often spend a significant amount of time navigating complex systems to document patient information. This detracts from valuable patient interaction time and may lead to inefficiencies in healthcare delivery.
Goal Statement
Design an intuitive UX/UI system that enables clinical staff to document, store, and retrieve patient information efficiently, thereby optimizing workflow and increasing time spent with patients. This app will allow clinicians to communicate treatment plan changes quickly by notifying other members of the treatment team.
Research & Planning
I analyzed existing systems and identified common usability issues.
I created a user persona based off of personal research and communication with clinicians to identify pain points and needs.
Here is what I found.
There is a need in this space for an app in clinicians pockets to be able to communicate with each other.
Oftentimes, there are many moving parts in a patient's treatment plan that need to be communicated efficiently and while on the go.
Design & Prototyping
Began to create wireframes and interactive prototypes. Iteratively refined designs based on user feedback to enhance usability and visual appeal.
Testing & Optimization
The resulting healthcare app allows for consistent documentation and communication between clinicians during their work day. With an intuitive interface clinicians will be able to spend more time with patients.
Streamline Navigation and Information Access
Reduce the time clinical staff spend navigating through various screens and interfaces to document patient information.
Optimize Workflow Efficiency
Minimize disruptions to patient interaction time caused by system interactions, ensuring a smoother workflow.
Enhance Usability and User Experience
Improve overall user satisfaction with the documentation system by implementing a messaging system that allows for communication between clinicians.
Here, the outcomes and achievements of the project are highlighted.
Increased Efficiency
Streamline the process of documenting patient information to reduce time spent on administrative tasks. By introducing a messaging center, it allows for clinicians to communicate in real time therefore reducing direct care errors.
Usability
Ability for clinicians to find, document, and store patient information with an intuitive workflow.
Accessibility
Ensure the system is accessible to users of varying technical proficiency and needs.
